Butyl acrylate

Butyl acrylate is a colorless transparent liquid, insoluble in water, miscible with ethanol. Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature should not exceed 37°C. It is not advisable to store in large quantities or for a long time. Acrylic acid and its esters are widely used in industry, used as soft monomers for manufacturing solvent-based and emulsion-based acrylic ester adhesives. They can undergo homopolymerization, copolymerization, and graft copolymerization, serving as polymer monomers and organic synthesis intermediates.

Acrylic acid and its esters are widely used in industry. During use, acrylic esters are often polymerized into polymers or copolymers. Butyl acrylate (as well as methyl ester, ethyl ester, and 2-ethylhexyl ester) belongs to soft monomers and can be copolymerized, cross-linked, or grafted with various hard monomers, styrene, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, etc., as well as functional monomers such as hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, hydroxypropyl ester, glycidyl ester, (meth)acrylamide and its derivatives to produce 200-700 types of acrylic resin products (mainly emulsion-based, solvent-based, and water-soluble types).
Used in coatings, adhesives, modification of acrylic fibers, plastic modification, fiber and fabric processing, paper treatment agents, leather processing, and acrylic rubber, among many other applications.
